This
is a page basically summarizing some of my favorite bands. Of course, I
enjoy several other bands as well, but these are the ones that stuck out
at me (and that were fairly simple to find pictures of).
((go...here
to see the site that my friend Dan made for the record label he's putting
together))
Tool
What else is there to say? They're my favorite band. To the left is
a picture of Tool when they had the bassist Paul D'Amour. He parted
with the band due to... musical differences I suppose. I didn't really
get into the band prior to his leaving. The members are: Maynard James
Keenan (looming in the back), Danny Carey (hanging on the left side),
Adam Jones (cowarding in the left corner) and Paul D'Amour at the top
right.

Above
is a picture of Tool with Justin Chancellor, the replacement for Paul D'Amour
and current bassist for the band. Personally, I like him rather well.

A Perfect Circle.
Maynard's "side project." I actually had the A Perfect CD Mer
de Noms before I ever had a Tool CD. In fact, I would go so far as to
say I liked A Perfect Circle before I liked Tool.

Fiona Apple
Her music has been there for me when I've needed it most. The strength in
her lyrics and her voice is just awe-inspiring. So many times when I've
doubted myself, I've just picked up one of her CDs, and listened to it,
over and over. She also adds some nice diversity to my music collection.

JOJ
I've only recently gotten into them, but they are definitely one of my favorite
bands. One of my close friends thought I might like them, so she encouraged
me to download some of their songs. I of course, did enjoy them very much,
and now cannot stop listening to them.

Alice In Chains
Alice was my first favorite band. I loved their eerie vocals, and the
combination of melody and power in their guitar. I had always enjoyed
them, but it was when I was in seventh grade that I started listening
to them avidly.
Update: April 20, 2002 I learned the shocking news that Layne Staley,
the lead singer for Alice In Chains had died on April fifth. He will be
greatly missed-in my heart especially.

System of a Down
When I first listened to System of a Down, I enjoyed them. I didn't really
intend to like them as a very favorite band of mine, but when my friend
gave me their CD Toxicity for Christmas, I couldn't stop listening
to them. Their vocals are so unique, and everything, musically, is amazing
with them.

Ahh,
Opeth. The band which my sister says is composed of musical gods, with whom she wishes
to have the "collective metaphorical, babies." in any case, they are truly awesome, and everyone should listen to them, because they rock. enough said.
